Job Description Summary

For Grid Solutions, Offshore HVDC represents a key differentiating technology and a central focus for the business, particularly in Europe where Transmission System Operators have very ambitious renewable energy targets. In this context, Grid Solutions is looking for a Senior Project Manager HVDC who will be accountable for the execution of the HVDC scope within the Consortium Project Organisation. The Senior Project Manager HVDC will be directly responsible for the engineering & equipment package delivery from our HVDC Product Delivery Group (HVDC PDG). The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for his/her project/work package on-time delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. The successful candidate will provide leadership to strategically manage risks & opportunities and ensure that the project / work package follows high standards in terms of quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements. Major Responsibilities

* Manage the Execution phase for a large GE work-package of one mega HVDC Project in UK: ensure Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), On-Time-Delivery (OTD) and financial objectives (sales, margin, billing, cash) for the GE scope.
* Ensure Project Reviews governance in line with GE Grid Solutions Operating rhythm with a focus on Risks Management and related mitigation plans.
* Lead & coach a multi-cultural cross-functional project team composed of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Project Controls (cost & planning), Finance, Contract Management.
* Develop and implement the project execution strategy to achieve performance goals.
* Represent GE towards the customer and manage the interface and relationship.
* Coordinate internal and external communication loops and with consortium partners.
* Set up and secure necessary resources for the execution of the project/work package and support the project team organization.
* Monitor performance and report key performance indicators (KPI) as required.
* Take necessary actions to guarantee financial, time, quality and safety performance to maximise project goals.
* Establish and monitor the Project Quality Plan, Procedures, and EHS Plan; ensure compliance with specifications at the lowest final cost.
* Support Claim Management strategy and lead actions accordingly; address claims following the defined strategy.
* Define and update a Risk Management Plan; evaluate actions to improve overall project performance and follow up on results.
* Develop and monitor the Master Time Schedule and manage project float to ensure timely completion.
* Exercise commercial and financial controls during execution with regular reporting and forecasting of project metrics and KPIs.
* Coordinate technical support/engineering, manufacturing/supply, and onsite construction resources.


Qualifications / Requirements

* Masters or bachelors degree from an accredited university or college. Preferably a technical degree.
* Experience in project management of large and complex projects (+$100M minimum).
* Experience in HVDC technology.
* Fluent in English.

* Strong knowledge across the full project management cycle: integration, planning, cost control, procurement, risk management, contract management, construction management.
* Technical knowledge in high voltage electrical grids; power electronics / HVDC as an advantage.
* Experience in offshore projects is an advantage.
* Willingness and ability to travel.
