The Team:
The Residential Accommodation Services Team is part of the Commercial Services Unit within Infrastructure Services. Property officers work under the broad direction of the Manager - Residential Accommodation to ensure that the Department of Health can offer accommodation to eligible onboarding health service staff in line with its policy.
The Role:
The Residential Property Officer manages all aspects of residential accommodation for staff, contractors, and visitors in North Tasmania. Responsibilities include managing accommodation contracts, coordinating tenancies, furnishing, connecting services, and overseeing maintenance and cleaning. The Residential Property Officer acts as the single point of contact for all accommodation issues in the area, liaising, negotiating, and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders and tenants.
You will need:
* Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in real estate or property management, including understanding relevant legislation such as the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 and Residential Tenancies Regulations 1997.
* High-level interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, with the ability to establish and manage relationships, exercise judgment, and assertiveness with stakeholders including managers, vendors, agency staff, and contractors.
* Strong organizational skills, including financial management, initiative, prioritization, creativity, adaptability, flexibility, and the capacity to develop solutions and work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Details of appointment:
This is a permanent, full-time, day worker position (with on-call duties), working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum (pro-rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
