Overview
The successful applicant will be part of a team providing medical and non medical consumables to Health Boards in South Wales. This will involve the picking and packing of items ready for delivery to sites, following orders generated by hospital staff.
To ensure all boxes / pallets are clearly and precisely labelled with all relevant information and for completed boxes / packages to be placed on the designated pallets for distribution. To assist in the receipting of goods into the warehouse from suppliers.
Responsibilities
* Pick and pack items for delivery to sites following hospital orders.
* Label boxes / pallets clearly with all relevant information.
* Place completed boxes / packages on designated pallets for distribution.
* Assist in receipting goods into the warehouse from suppliers.
* Work as part of a team receiving and picking stock.
Shift pattern
Two-week rotating shifts.
* Week one: mornings, Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00.
* Week two: afternoons, Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 18:00.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential criteria
* NVQ Level 2 in Warehouse and Distribution (or willing to work towards).
* 3 GCSEs (including Maths and English), or equivalent level of experience.
Desirable criteria
* Basic knowledge of medical and surgical items.
* Working knowledge of Quality systems and procedures.
* Knowledge of COSHH.
* Welsh language skills (desirable).
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience in warehousing.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of mechanical equipment.
Other attributes
* Meets all essential criteria as per attached job description/person specification.
* Welsh speaker (desirable).
