Purpose And Objectives Of The Role
The Contract Manager (CM) is the manager of the contract and is responsible for ensuring we deliver a first-class service to the client while controlling costs and maintaining profitability for the company. The CM shall ensure service delivery aligns with the customer requirements and possess technical qualifications, experience in managing large multi-disciplinary maintenance services, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Ensure contractors and service partners are performing to the required standards of service and customer care.
* Apply governance and value-for-money processes for all works completed.
* Lead, mentor, and motivate a multi-disciplinary team, providing clear direction to staff at all levels to ensure high performance.
* Ensure Engineering teams comply with all statutory, client, and company policies and procedures relevant to contract deliverables, including QSHE processes.
* Build the client relationship and serve as a point of escalation for service performance issues or customer complaints.
* Make operational decisions based on sound engineering practice to ensure continuity of service.
* Coordinate with site-based maintenance staff, sub-contractors, and other site-based departments to ensure effective communications.
* Oversee handover from the Commercial Team to Operations covering all aspects.
* Cultivate a positive, productive, and collaborative working environment that promotes staff development, engagement, and retention.
* Maintain full P&L accountability for all maintained university properties.
* Attend required training to maintain safe working practices and environment.
* Promote and follow up on new business opportunities in line with the company growth plan and support related sales and marketing campaigns.
* Complete manufacturer-approved training as necessary to effectively manage and maintain fabric, systems, assets, and services.
* Generate income through organic account growth to achieve or exceed financial targets.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key client stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds expectations.
* Ensure best-practice processes are followed for all planned, reactive, and minor works activities.
* Develop performance measurements and monthly reports through the CAFM system.
* Manage the Engineering Team’s day-to-day operational and maintenance duties and responsibilities, including shift patterns.
* Play an integral role in the Contract Renewal process to address issues and replace underperforming subcontractors.
* Identify undersold contracts and work with Commercial/Senior Management to agree solutions.
* Build collaborative relationships with colleagues, customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Promote a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment and respond to customer needs as they arise.
Qualifications
* Technically qualified with experience managing large multi-disciplinary maintenance services.
* Proficient in communication and organizational skills.
* Full P&L accountability for maintained properties.
* Willingness to complete all manufacturer-approved training as necessary to manage and maintain fabric, systems, assets, and services.
