Senior Enterprise Architect at Lloyds Banking Group

Locations: Edinburgh and Bristol.
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week.
Working pattern: Hybrid – at least two days per week at an office site.
Salary: £90,000 – £106,400.
About this opportunity
We’re currently seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect aligned to our Commercial Business Area. You’ll build relationships, provide thought leadership, own the technology strategy for your focus area, maintain alignment with wider Group strategies, and influence business teams to deliver customer outcomes. You are a confident, passionate architect who can engage at all levels, including executives.
Responsibilities
An individual with a solid sense of ownership and integrity who enjoys working collaboratively across the Group, defining and guiding the strategic architecture for a business unit, and ensuring designs align with the vision. You will influence technology strategies that support Group objectives, act as the voice of the customer, partner with platforms, functions, and third‑party vendors, and lead transformation in an agile environment.
What you’ll need
* Open, collaborative, approachable style with strong relationship‑building skills.
* Understanding of the Commercial business domain, key products, market trends, regulatory and competitive landscapes.
* Storytelling abilities, both written and verbal, to present recommendations aligned with priorities.
* Demonstrable experience in technology architecture and designing systems to meet business needs.
* Broad technical knowledge – domain‑driven models, microservices, event‑driven design, hybrid cloud, cloud services, DevOps, CI/CD, modern data paradigms, cyber security, resilience, sustainability.
* Awareness of emerging technologies such as Gen AI and Quantum computing, their maturity and business impact.
* Strong communication and relationship skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Proven success establishing continuous improvement and driving innovation.
* Experience in large, complex organisations with a strong appreciation of non‑functional considerations.
* Breadth of experience in architecture within a regulated industry (ideally financial).
