A Vacancy at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

In relation to the patient falls prevention service, you will be supporting the falls prevention teamin delivery, management and leadership of the service, exhibiting leadership behaviours, for example, being organized, an advocate, adaptive and approachable.

You will also support divisional teams in the reduction of patient falls, via working collaboratively within the Harm Free Care team, patient safety team and patient experience team and be supporting (in collaboration with the Falls prevention lead and the corporate clinical quality team), the delivery of the governance systems and processes related to patient falls within the Trust. Processes include quality planning and assurance; identification and management of risks, continuous quality improvement; learning from patient safety incidents.

You will also be providingspecialist advice and guidance for clinical areas in relation to the prevention of falls and management of post falls care. Furthermore, you will be helping thefalls prevention team in the design and delivery of the Trust falls prevention education strategy, whilst also deputising for theFalls Prevention Lead in their absence.

Expert Clinical Knowledge & Support
• Providing specialist advice on preventing and managing patient falls
• Collaborating with clinical teams to implement best practices and adhere to the Falls Policy
• Ensuring 24/7 access to falls prevention equipment
• Responding to complaints, legal inquiries, and attend court proceedings when required
• Promoting learning from patient safety incidents

Leadership & Service Management
• Leading and supporting the delivery of the Trust’s falls prevention service and deputising for the Falls Prevention Lead and contributing to strategic planning
• Supporting quality management systems and learning systems
• Assisting with business planning and operational resilience

Governance & Quality Improvement
• Collaborating on the development and implementation of the Trust’s Falls Prevention Policy
• Ensuring compliance with national standards and NHS Litigation Authority requirements
• Supporting data collection and reporting systems for falls-related metrics
• Contributing to ward accreditation processes focused on harm-free care

Education & Training
• Designing and delivering the Trust’s falls prevention education strategy
• Developing educational resources
• Disseminating learning through digital platforms and internal communications

Research & Evidence-Based Practice
• Conducting literature reviews
• Undertaking audits and quality improvement projects
• Supporting implementation of research findings into practices and exploring research opportunities
