Introduction: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CNC Automation Technician to join our growing friendly team at Niftylift. The role is based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Hoyland, Barnsley.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Provide Technical support to Production to ensure CNC Machines operate effectively, responsible for optimising functionality and ensuring equipment is maintained to correct standards.
* Control programme back up systems, make corrections and record reasons for changes to maintain historical records and references.
* Carry out and create recovery procedures when functionality errors occur, ensuring all reasons are recorded for further investigation and future mitigation of errors.
* Liaise with tooling/equipment suppliers for persistent performance concerns or functionality issues, recording outcomes and any changes made to the equipment/ tooling.
* Carry out basic maintenance of the equipment to maintain functionality and optimised up time of the equipment.
* Control shopfloor spares to ensure the production technicians have the correct consumables and availability of consumables and essential basic spares.
* Conduct audits on operator TPMs to ensure the correct level of equipment care is being carried out to prolong the life cycle of the equipment and ensure product quality is maintained.
* Liaise with Production Engineers to ensure Standard Operating Procedures, TPM instructions, Risk Assessments and Training records are maintained to the correct standard.
* Where machines are running at current optimum levels, review each process and evaluate for 7 wastes and continuously improve OEE.
* Assist Quality Engineers where required to support nonconformance investigations.
* Support the NPI Team with new part or Engineering Change validation for CNC Machining.
* CNC ISO programming online and offline to support new parts, engineering changes and process improvements.
* Macro programming and maintenance of existing macros within a suite of Renishaw programs.
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar field.
* Experience of operating, programming, and recovery systems for CNC Machining Centres.
* Fully conversant with machine tools optimisation of feeds and speeds, types of material and coolant specification for Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
* CNC ISO programming on Fanuc operating systems.
* Renishaw programming.
Working Hours & Salary
* Hours will be 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday & 07:30 – 13:30 Friday (40 hours per week).
* Guaranteed basic starting salary £37,720.80 per annum, plus overtime at enhanced rates and monthly bonuses as described.
