Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting both clinical and administrative functions to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Responsibilities
* Carry out delegated clinical tasks within competence
* Record observations (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight)
* Perform routine health checks (e.g., new patient and NHS Health Checks)
* Perform long‑term health condition reviews
* Assist clinicians during examinations and minor procedures, including chaperone responsibilities
* Undertake phlebotomy and process laboratory samples as requested by the clinical team
* Maintain clean, stocked, and compliant clinical rooms and decontaminate equipment in line with infection control standards
* Keep accurate patient records using clinical systems
* Provide health advice, education and signposting
* Support administrative tasks such as recalls and appointments
* Assist with the delivery of wound care, including dressing changes, suture removal, documentation, infection control, and reporting concerns within scope of practice
* Perform ECGs as required, ensuring accurate recording
* Fit and set up 24‑hour blood pressure monitors, ensuring correct use and patient understanding
* Maintain vaccine storage and cold chain monitoring in line with practice policies and guidelines
* Carry out anticoagulation monitoring using INRstar, ensuring accurate recording and escalation in line with protocol
* Perform urinalysis and accurately record and report results to the clinical team in line with practice protocols
* Support the delivery of QOF (Quality & Outcomes Framework) by assisting with patient recalls, data entry, and completion of clinical checks
