This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Door professional to join a small, well-established Fire & Security business based in Worcester. With many years of industry experience, the company specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of fire and security systems, supporting clients across the West Midlands and throughout the UK.
This is a varied role combining Fire Door Inspection, Fire Door Remediation and Fire Door Installation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across all aspects of fire door compliance and safety.
What we need from you:
* Proven experience working within the fire door industry
* Strong understanding of current fire safety legislation, regulations, and standards
* Ability to inspect, remediate and install fire doors to compliant standards
* Experience working with communal doors, flat entrance doors, riser doors, and service cupboard doors
* Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
* Good communication and reporting skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Professional manner when working in occupied residential and commercial properties
* Hold a current UK Driving Licence
Preferred Qualifications:
* FDIS, FIRAS, BM TRADA, or equivalent fire door qualifications
* NVQ in Carpentry or Passive Fire Protection
* CSCS Card
* PASMA and/or IPAF
What this role involves:
As part of this position, you will be responsible for carrying out fire door inspections, completing remedial works, and undertaking new fire door installations.
Your duties will include:
* Carrying out fire door inspections and surveys
* Identifying defects and compliance issues
* Completing remedial works in line with fire safety requirements
* Installing fire doors and associated ironmongery
* Ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and fire safety regulations
* Completing reports, photographs, and certification accurately
* Maintaining high standards of workmanship, compliance, and professionalism on site
Fire Door Inspection Requirements:
Inspectors must be able to identify and report:
* Door leaf condition, damage, and certification
* Frame condition and gap tolerances
* Intumescent and smoke seal compliance
* Hinges, closers, ironmongery, and latching mechanisms
* Glazing compliance
* Threshold gaps
* Signage requirements
* Overall fire door compliance and performance
Fire Door Remedial & Installation Requirements:
Operatives carrying out remedial works or installations must:
* Use compliant and compatible fire-rated products
* Follow manufacturer specifications and installation guidance
* Always maintain fire certification integrity
* Record all completed works accurately
* Ensure all doors are fully compliant upon completion
Salary: Negotiable, depending on your level of experience. xsngvjr
Hours: Working full-time hours, consisting of 8 hours on site per day, plus travelling time.
