About The Role
We need you to help maintain and improve the environment of the Borough.
This role will cover a working week of Friday to Tuesday and your main duties will be to cover the Borough’s streets driving a caged vehicle or using machinery to aid in maintaining it in a clean and tidy way.
Weekend work will involve patrolling around the town centre areas sweeping, emptying litter bins and removing any other waste.
Hours of work will be:
Friday: 07.30am – 15.30pm
Saturday and Sunday: 07.00am – 15.30pm
Monday and Tuesday: 07.30am – 16.00pm
About You
We are looking for somebody with a mature attitude that can work without close supervision. As a public face of Fareham Borough Council, you will be expected to conduct yourself in a helpful, polite and professional manner as you travel in the borough.
You will need:
* A full, clean driving licence.
* Awareness of Health and Safety including manual handling, street cleansing legislation.
* The ability to learn a range of street cleansing methods and to select which is the best for the situation.
