Job Title: Lecturer in Health and Social Care

Salary: Up to 45k per annum
Reports to: Faculty Manager
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 9am-9pm, Fri-Sun 9am-6pm
Location: Flexibility to work across Southall and Central London campuses
Start Date: Interviews are ongoing; possible start dates are 11 August 2025 or 1 September 2025, subject to a successful interview.

Overall purpose
The Lecturer will design, develop, and deliver learning materials across modules or within a subject area, in a hybrid (face-to-face and online) setting. Responsibilities include engaging students, supporting their achievement, and ensuring a high-quality student experience. The role may also involve supporting students across entire programs.
Specific duties and responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
* Deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, and maintain attendance records.
* Develop teaching materials and deliver sessions aligned with program specifications.
* Engage with digital learning platforms like VLEs and MS Teams.
* Support student engagement and suggest improvements.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop module content.
Assessment and Marking
* Set assessments, ensure timely submissions, and support assessment moderation.
* Provide formative and summative feedback, mark assessments, and handle academic misconduct cases.
Student Support
* Address engagement and performance issues, signposting to support services.
* Monitor and liaise on students' Learning Support Plans.
Quality Assurance
* Provide module evaluation reports, contribute to program evaluations, and participate in quality assurance activities.
* Reflect on student feedback and contribute to accreditation processes.
Scholarship
* Engage in scholarship to support teaching and keep knowledge current.
* Apply scholarship findings to teaching and external activities.
Managing People and Resources
* Coordinate with support staff or colleagues as a module leader.
* Manage projects related to your area of work and organize external activities.
* Ensure modules are delivered to required standards and support student recruitment and marketing efforts.
