The School/Role
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Cleaner to join our specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Coventry. This full-time role is vital in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our students and staff. You will play an important part in ensuring the school remains a positive and supportive space for learning and development.
Key Duties
* Cleaning & Hygiene: Carry out daily cleaning duties across classrooms, corridors, offices, toilets, and communal areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness.
* Health & Safety: Ensure cleaning is completed in line with school policies and health and safety regulations.
* Infection Control: Follow procedures for effective sanitisation to reduce the risk of infection and promote wellbeing.
* Maintenance Support: Report any cleaning or maintenance issues promptly to site management.
* Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the site team and contribute to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for pupils with SEMH needs.

Requirements
* Previous experience in a cleaning role (preferably within a school or similar environment)
* Knowledge of cleaning practices, health and safety, and COSHH regulations
* Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable
* Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
* Experience working in an SEN/SEMH school setting
* Flexibility to work occasional additional hours if required
* Valid photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport)
* Recent work-based references
