A rapidly growing technology business at the forefront of cutting‑edge innovation is seeking a proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This role offers a study support package and an excellent opportunity to broaden your accounting experience while contributing to a forward‑thinking organisation.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will support the day‑to‑day finance operations and play a key role in month‑end processes and financial reporting. You'll gain exposure to journal postings, reconciliations, fixed asset management, and transactional finance tasks.
Your new role
1. Support day‑to‑day accounting operations under the guidance of the Finance Manager.
2. Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
3. Post accounting journals, including accruals, prepayments, and other routine adjustments.
4. Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
5. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances as required.
6. Carry out ad hoc finance tasks to support the wider finance function.
7. Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the finance team.
8. Assist with the integration into NetSuite, supporting ERP implementation activities and finance transformation work.
9. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the finance team to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed
10. Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
11. Strong proficiency in Excel.
12. Familiarity with Xero or NetSuite accounting system would be advantageous.
13. Excellent attention to detail.
14. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
15. Good written and verbal communication skills
16. Studying towards an accounting qualification would be beneficial.
