Electricians needed in Euston NW1.
Main Purpose of the Role To install, maintain, inspect and repair electrical systems and equipment across the hospital estate, ensuring the continuity, safety and compliance of all electrical services that support clinical and non-clinical functions. You will be part of the Estates & Facilities team and ensure the electrical infrastructure meets statutory, regulatory and Trust standards, supporting the delivery of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, power supplies (including UPS/generator interfaces), switchgear, building management systems (BMS), and associated electrical services.
* Respond to reactive calls and fault-find electrical systems in clinical and non-clinical areas, diagnosing and repairing faults in a timely manner to minimise disruption.
* Undertake installations, upgrades and refurbishments of electrical systems (e.g., new circuits, lighting retrofits, power supply changes) compliant with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and relevant NHS Technical Memoranda / guidance.
* Work in accordance with all Health & Safety legislation (e.g., Electricity at Work Regulations 1989), Trust policies, infection prevention/control requirements (especially when working in clinical areas), permit-to-work systems and risk assessments.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, including job tickets, inspection and test certificates, maintenance logs, and ensure compliance with statutory inspection schedules.
* Liaise with other estates/facilities staff, contractors, clinical staff and other service users to schedule work, communicate impacts, coordinate shutdowns or planned works, and ensure minimal disruption to services.
* Participate in an on-call/standby rota if required (to respond to electrical emergencies outside standard hours)
