Occupational Therapist (Band 5)
Location: Cygnet Sherwood House, Rufford Colliery Lane, Rainworth, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG21 0HR
Salary: £31,317 per year
Caseload: Up to 15 patients
Hours: 40 hours per week (5 days)
About the Role
Cygnet Sherwood House is a 30‑bed specialist high‑support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service for men dedicated to providing a high‑quality environment that promotes long‑term recovery. Our multi‑disciplinary team includes occupational therapy, psychology, nursing and psychiatry, and we focus on supporting service users as individuals, helping them unlock their talents and aspirations.
As an Occupational Therapist (Band 5), you will work in the Mental Health Adults (Male) & High Dependency Rehabilitation service line, contributing to the development of evidence‑based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathways. You will participate in specialist interest groups, service model development, and peer‑led CPD sessions.
Responsibilities
* Provide occupational therapy interventions for up to 15 patients, supporting their return to community living.
* Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary team members and share expertise in service model development.
* Actively engage in a 12‑month Occupational Therapy Preceptorship to consolidate core skills, and optionally a sensory integration preceptorship.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to evidence‑based practice.
* Support service users through individual therapy sessions and group interventions as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Entry‑level Occupational Therapist with a newly qualified status who is keen to start a rewarding career in a high‑support rehabilitation setting.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, a reference check, and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
