Mechanical Engineer II – Honeywell Aerospace – Edinburgh, Scotland
As a Mechanical Engineer II on Honeywell’s space team, you will design and develop innovative mechanical solutions for RF, satellite communication, and quantum systems. Your work will advance aerospace technologies and deliver high-quality products to our customers.
You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work onsite in Edinburgh, Scotland on an onsite schedule.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform mechanical analysis using ANSYS to verify system integrity under thermal and vibration loading.
* Develop and maintain designs for mechanical components, assemblies (BOMs), and systems using Creo 3D CAD and Honeywell’s Teamcenter PLM database.
* Collaborate cross‑functionally to develop world‑class RF, Satellite Communication, and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) devices and systems.
* Design drafting and documentation to clearly communicate technical information.
* Conduct mechanical inspection and testing of devices in a clean‑room environment.
* Proactively contribute to the success of the manufacturing plant; identify and address issues as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics from an accredited institution.
* 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, particularly in aerospace applications.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.
* Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools.
* Experience with RF, satellite communication, or quantum systems is highly desirable.
