Main duties of the job

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Pharmacy IT Systems Specialist to support and develop the digital services that underpin our Pharmacy department and wider Trust. In this role, you'll build a strong understanding of the systems that keep our services running safely and efficiently, providing expert day-to‑day support to clinical and operational users in partnership with the IT Service Desk.

You’ll act as a key liaison with system suppliers, managing contractual discussions and ensuring our systems are maintained, developed, and used in line with agreed requirements. As the Systems Manager for the JAC system, you’ll take responsibility for coordinating with suppliers and ensuring smooth integration with other Trust systems.

You’ll also contribute to essential documentation, including policies, training materials, and operational manuals that support effective system use. Working closely with project teams, you’ll help drive forward Pharmacy IT initiatives such as inpatient e‑prescribing and broader digital developments. You’ll also serve as an important link between Pharmacy, the IT department, Varian (Aria), and the Thames Valley Cancer Network, ensuring strong communication and a cohesive approach to Pharmacy IM&T across the Trust.
