Glenholme is excited to announce a new role at our well-established care home in Ely, Vera James House. The home is a 42-bed facility providing residential, dementia, respite, and end-of-life care.
About The Role:
To maintain the interior and exterior aspects of the properties within our care home in Ely. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, weekly compliance checks, carpentry, landscaping, decorative repairs, lifting, carrying, electrical and plumbing repairs, and general maintenance tasks as directed by the Estates or Home Manager.
* Ensure all necessary compliance checks related to the homes are up to date, including weekly checks.
* Undertake any other general maintenance tasks related to the interior or exterior of the buildings as directed.
* Control of maintenance stock and ensure general compliance.
* Keep maintenance staff training up to date, with the assistance of the Estates Manager.
Pattern of work:
* You will be based at our Ely facility but may be required to attend other sites within the group for maintenance-related matters.
* The role may involve other duties as deemed appropriate.
* You may be asked to be on call for facilities-related emergencies outside of regular hours.

Required Skills and Experience:
* Hard-working, reliable, with excellent attention to detail and high standards of work presentation.
* Respectful behavior towards residents, their families, and colleagues.
* Highly responsible, safety-conscious, and risk-aware; health and safety qualifications such as lifting and handling are desirable.
* Practically minded, capable of completing a wide range of repairs.
* Ability to work independently, planning and coordinating maintenance tasks, while adhering to schedules when necessary.
* Valid UK driving license.
* Report to the Estates Manager if a job exceeds the training or skill level of the post holder.
* Skilled in maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrics, carpentry, painting, decorating, and laboring.
* Previous experience in building trades, electrical work, carpentry, plumbing, or mechanical services.
* Professional qualifications in maintenance or supervision, such as BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3.
* Keen eye for detail to ensure the internal and external appearance and operation of the properties meet high standards.
