School Crossing Patrol Officer - Leigh Beck Infant School and Nursery

Support your local community by joining Essex County Council's School Crossing Patrol Team at Leigh Beck Infant School and Nursery, Canvey Island.
Assist in the morning and afternoon to ensure the safety of pedestrians crossing the road to and from the school and surrounding areas.
We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public.
This role is approximately 7.5 hours per week, with holiday pay included. You should be available during the 39 weeks of the school year for 45-minute shifts in the morning (08:00-09:00) and afternoon (14:45-15:45), depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training will be provided.
Responsibilities include:
* Considering the needs of disabled pedestrians, especially those with mobility impairments.
* Maintaining contact with the schools served by the crossing.
* Assessing risks at the crossing site and reporting issues.
* Assisting in accident and incident reporting.
* Maintaining uniform and equipment in good condition.
* Signaling to drivers to stop traffic and ensuring pedestrians are safe to cross.
