To ensure the continuous operational integrity of signalling systems, the technician performs both preventive and corrective maintenance on all relevant equipment. The role also involves actively monitoring and upholding safety standards for both personnel and the signalling infrastructure. This is a safety-critical position requiring strict adherence to regulatory and operational protocols.
* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on signalling equipment in line with technical instructions, and support the maintenance of electrical switch systems.
* Undertake safety-critical duties including acting as Work Site Safety Manager (CDC), serving as a lookout, and operating service tunnel vehicles.
* Adhere to quality procedures, ensuring proper use and upkeep of tools, equipment, and resources.
* Comply with all safety and operational protocols, and complete required administrative documentation (e.g., MMS reports, shift logs).
* Contribute to optimisation and upgrade activities on signalling systems.
* Support the execution of new installation works and accurately complete associated worksheets.
* Document and report faults clearly and promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
* HNC in a technical field such as Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Electromechanics.
* Fluent in English; ability to communicate in French is desirable.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and web-based tools.
* A full UK driving licence is essential.
* A valid passport is required for this role.
