Senior Support Worker - Apprenticeship Opportunity

The Comprehensive Emotional Care Team is part of the wider Community Mental Health Services that cover the North Lincs locality. This post is based with the Complex Emotional Needs pathway working with individuals with complex needs such as complex trauma and depression.
The post holder will work as a member of the multi‑professional team providing high quality healthcare support, assisting in medication reviews and completing physical health checks with clients including ECGs, blood pressure readings and phlebotomy.
You will be required to travel independently to clients’ homes across North Lincolnshire.
If you don’t already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH is offering this post alongside the opportunity to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent on training and study, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
Main duties of the job
* Undertake agreed activities as delegated by a registered nurse, with patients / service users under direct or indirect supervision of qualified staff.
* Contribute to the implementation and delivery of individualised evidence‑based care.
* Maintain accurate electronic records, record new problems as they are identified and report all actions to the nurse in charge.
* Take personal responsibility to incorporate the 6 C vision of care into your care delivery.
* Provide feedback on current patient / service user status to appropriate members of the professional team.
* Develop a rapport with patients / service users and encourage them to participate in their plan of care.
* Work in partnership with patients / carers and multi‑agency teams to promote health and independence.
* Assist the relevant professional during assessment / treatment / intervention where required.
* Support the patient / service user to make use of available services and facilities.
* Organise and run testing events in partnership with other agencies.
* Obtain follow‑up bloods from patients with poor venous access.
* Follow Health and Safety regulations and promote a safe environment wherever possible.
Person Specification
Knowledge
* Understand importance of maintaining confidentiality.
Experience
* Demonstrate a keen interest in caring for others.
* Previous experience of caring for patients in a clinical setting.
* Previous experience of working as part of a team.
* Previous experience of supervising staff.
Qualifications
* English and Maths at level 2 or equivalent (GCSE 9‑4 or A*‑C or functional skills level 2).
* NVQ Level 2 in a related subject.
* NVQ Level 3 in a related subject or willingness to undertake a relevant Level 3 apprenticeship.
Skills
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively both face to face and in writing.
* Able to support and reassure patients / carers in distress.
* Basic IT skills.
