Overview
This is a fixed term post for 5 months until 31 March 2026. We are seeking a Senior Administration Officer to join the Business Operations Team to support the day-to-day operations and selected teams within the Research, Data and Digital Directorate.
The post holder will work flexibly across the directorate, providing support to meet business needs. They will be an integral member of the operational team, delivering efficient and consistent support within the directorate. The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to take instruction from all levels, self-organise, and communicate effectively. A good team player who is motivated and has experience across all aspects of the role. This could be a secondment opportunity with line manager approval required before applying.

Main duties
The post holder will provide cross-cover support for team members during sickness and annual leave and offer high-level administrative support across the Directorate. They will share knowledge to support and advise administrative and clerical staff and senior managers as required. The post reports directly to the EA/Business Support Manager.
Job responsibilities

* Extensive diary management
* High-level minute taking
* Active use of SharePoint records management
* Monitoring of compliance information

Qualifications
* Essential: RSA III/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, with a high level of numeracy and proficient written and spoken English
* Desirable: Advanced ECDL
Experience
* Essential: Demonstrable administrative experience; experience with financial systems and/or purchasing; customer/public engagement; project support; communication at all levels; handling confidential data; transcribing/minute taking; Microsoft Office Suite
* Desirable: Budget monitoring; Supervisory experience; NHS environment experience
Skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload
* Advanced keyboard skills
* Good communication and organisational skills
Knowledge
* Good knowledge of MS Office Suite
* Awareness of policies on confidential data and records management
* Understanding of office procedures and filing/data systems
