About the Company:
Our client is a leading design-build general contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Carolinas. With a focus on technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration, we partner with municipalities and utilities to deliver high-quality, sustainable infrastructure that supports resilient communities.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support the planning, design, and permitting of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including:
* Treatment plants (water and wastewater)
* Collection and distribution systems
* Pump stations, lift stations, and storage facilities
* Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
* Perform hydraulic modeling, process analysis, and site design.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
* Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
* Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
* Provide construction phase services, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field inspections.
* Mentor junior engineers and support professional development within the team.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s ).
* Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
* 5–10 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater design engineering.
* Experience in design-build project delivery.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar design software.
* Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and permitting requirements (EPA, AWWA, NCDOT, NCDEQ, etc.).
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
