Quality Systems Engineer Permanent – Days – Gloucester - Fulltime - £(phone number removed) Excellent Benefits A leading precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to support and maintain the company’s Quality Management Systems, with a particular focus on documentation control and compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong grasp of regulated quality systems who wants to take ownership of QMS activity across departments. Responsibilities: Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards Manage and control documentation, manuals, and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance Support internal and external audits, including documentation preparation, CAPA actions, and non-conformance tracking Assist with aligning the QMS to evolving customer, industry, and regulatory requirements Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality system responsibilities are met across new and existing products Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by reviewing and updating QMS documentation and policies Track and report on key Quality System KPIs and performance metrics Stay informed on developments in QMS standards and best practices Assist the wider Quality and Operational teams in maintaining audit readiness and systems integrity Participate in the planning and execution of quality improvement initiatives across the business Perform other QMS-related tasks as required Person: Strong experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment governed by AS9100 or similar standards Hands-on experience working with ISO 9001 and AS9100 QMS documentation and processes Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FAIR, ISIR, and Control Plans (preferred) Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 – beneficial but not essential Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and a process-driven mindset Confident in interpreting engineering drawings and understanding manufacturing documentation Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments Able to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
