Full-Time SEN Teacher – Darlington
We are looking to appoint a committed, compassionate, and skilled teacher to join our team in Darlington, working full-time with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role:
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with a range of additional needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised learning experiences that support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons to meet a range of SEN needs (e.g. ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD)
Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets
Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
Build strong relationships with parents and carers
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience working with pupils with SEN (school-based or specialist setting)
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience
Be confident in adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs
Have strong behaviour management and communication skills
Be committed to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
Desirable:
Experience in a specialist SEN setting or resource base
Training in areas such as autism support, Team Teach, or speech and language strategies
