Position : Desalination Operator
Location: Bacton
Start: ASAP
Duration: Full Time
Job Objective:
Desalination Plant Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and front line maintenance of the desalination plant and equipment. You will be required to maximise and optimise production whilst maintaining plant equipment and undertaking any corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as required.
This will include investigating anomalies and carrying out front line problem solving, reporting/rectifying issues as required, to ensure the processing and ancillary plant are operated within the specified operating window.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Ownership:
* Proactively support compliance with WG Life Saving Rules.
* Reinforce the WG core values to deliver safety as top priority.
* Comply with all aspects and conditions identified within the Permit to Work (PTW).
* Follow working practices and procedures, ensuring that role activities are completed safely and to a high standard at all times.
General:
Ensure Safe and Stable Production by performing Pro-Active Equipment Monitoring tasks (Surveillance) and active interventions to realise Bacton Desalination targets.
Your role will include:
* Interpretation of Distributed Control System (DCS) to ensure plant is running within Operational limits
* Completion of routine workorders including check safety valve operation, grease/oil equipment/valves, agitator checks, pump performance checks including deadhead checks,
* Plant readings and visual checks
* Sampling and analysis
* Flushing activities, including manually cleaning centrifuges, pumps, separators and level instrumentation
* Removal of contaminants from Mono Ethylene Glycol and Brine loops by draining to sump.
* Pumping liquid from salt skip and desal drains.
* Report equipment failures and faults via SAP
* Manual interventions on plant such as Top up of seal barrier fluid systems, nitrogen pressure systems
* Manual level control of sumps and pits by road tanker
* Changeout salt and/or filter cake skips, rake skips when needed.
* Identify and report unsafe conditions. Report equipment failures and faults via SAP Z1 form.
* Utilise, review and update relevant Desalination Plant procedures
* Receive formal handover from off-going shift operator
* Site Orientation activities in conjunction with Operations shift team and shift team handover
* Interact with maintenance to prove equipment isolations and for reinstatement
Working Relationship:
* The Desalination Operator has key interfaces on day-day with the Production Team Lead and the Process Engineer and is expected to build a strong working relationship in this area.
* Maintenance, Projects and Turnarounds to provide frontline guidance on plant operations in order to make production improvement modifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
* Minimum qualifications as required by WGPSN.
* Maintenance Trade - Mechanical, electrical or instrumentation experience. NVQ Level 3 advantageous.
* Hydrocarbons Level 2 (minimum) level 3 preferred. (This is not a pre-requisite but there is an expectation that this will be completed within 18-24 months for those not holding the qualification)
Knowledge, skills and experience:
* Hydrocarbons Level 2 (minimum) level 3 preferred. This is not essential as a pre requisite and full training will be given
* Forklift truck driver license
* Road Tanker loading/ unloading competence
* Pvision Permit to Work Requestor
* Pvision Permit to Work Isolator
* SAP Maintenance User
Knowledge, skills and experience:
* Skilled and experienced maintenance technician
* Demonstrable fault finding skills on processing plant
* Experience of Isolation management
Personal attributes:
* Good practical capabilities.
* Excellent team collaboration and engagement skills required
