Purpose of Position
The College of Health and Human Services is seeking applications for one full-time, tenure-track, Assistant Professor faculty position in the School of Nursing.

This position reports to the Associate School Director for Undergraduate Nursing/School of Nursing Director
Primary Responsibilities
The School of Nursing invites applications for the Tenure Track Assistant
Professor level position. Faculty responsibilities will include teaching in the BSN tracks, strong commitment to service, active engagement in scholarship, and general academic advising/career advising. All faculty must be prepared to plan and teach courses within their area of expertise. This includes developing (or using provided syllabus) for the classes assigned.
Teaching responsibilities may include didactic, lab and clinical.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Plan, teach, and evaluate lectures or activities within the course.
2. Assure instructional excellence and innovation in course presentation.
3. Remain current in the discipline through research and attendance at professional continuing education seminars.
4.Actively contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation
5. Serve on committees as assigned and attend faculty, departmental, and other meetings as necessary.
6. Advise students throughout the semester.
7. Provide tutoring to students upon request.
8. Maintain office hours to be accessible and available to students and staff.
9. Review textbooks in the discipline and place textbook orders according to the University schedule.
10. Maintain grades and submit mid-term and/or final grades through My NKU by the University deadlines.
11. Work cooperatively with the faculty team including adjunct clinical faculty.
12. Contribute to scholarship or creative activities within the field of nursing or related field.
Qualifications
Doctorate in nursing or related field. Two years of experience in clinical practice within the past five years required. The ideal candidate must have strong medical-surgical background with ability to teach across all BSN levels. The candidate must have strong pharmacology knowledge and possess ability to thread concepts into all assigned courses. Previous academic teaching experience in the face to face format preferred.
Must possess a valid unencumbered nursing license. Licensure in KY and Ohio required or multi-state licensure.
