An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust EPR Team. We are seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst to support improvements in patient care and the delivery of efficient, standardised processes across the Trust.
The postholder will be part of the team responsible for the configuration and testing of the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and associated applications. They will implement configuration changes in line with agreed business processes and authorised change requests, working closely with clinical, operational and EPR colleagues across the organisation.
The role will have a strong focus on supporting the configuration of new systems and ensuring a smooth transition into business‑as‑usual (BAU) support.
The postholder will be expected to work flexibly where required and to travel to Trust sites across Buckinghamshire.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the EPR Applications and Training manager within Corporate Applications team, the postholder will be involved in the day to day second line support, maintenance and change across all supported applications and services under the Corporate Applications team.
Supporting both clinical and non-clinical applications, the post holder will be an SME lead across numerous applications, providing support and guidance to the organisation and project teams with delivery of new applications. This post will play a key part in ensuring the team are able to support new applications introduced and ensure effective handover of projects into the operational team.
The post holder will be required to manage a small sub team which will include one-one’s, career development planning, managing sickness, appraisals and holiday for the sub team as well as other day to day team lead requirements.
The role includes participation in the on‑call rota, in line with service requirements.

Person specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
11. Evidence of formal education or experience (A Level equivalent)
12. 5 or more GCSE level qualifications including English and Mathematics at grade A to C or equivalent.
13. Evidence of on-going personal development.
14. Evidence of technical training to expert level.
15. Relevant IT Qualification
Desirable criteria
16. Exposure to ITIL Practices
17. ITIL Foundation Certificate.
18. Prince II Foundation Certificate.
Experience
Essential criteria
19. Previous experience in supporting corporate systems in a complex IT support environment using ITIL principles.
20. Previous experience of working in a Service/Helpdesk environment providing support to staff.
21. At least 5 years of experience working in the NHS with exposure to Healthcare Systems for at least 2 years.
22. Excellent experience of working in the NHS with strong exposure to Healthcare Systems
Desirable criteria
23. Knowledge of Careflow EPR, Rio, Vitals, Patient Flow, Careflow Medicines Management, Ambient Voice technology use in healthcare products
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
Essential criteria
24. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels in the organisation, including clinical staff and managerial staff as well as with external suppliers
25. Good understanding of Acute and Community processes including Outpatients, Inpatients, Maternity, theatres and Emergency Departments.
26. Good understanding of desktop, server and network systems and how they interlink and function to provide an integrated IT infrastructure.
27. Ability to multi task effectively and independently
28. Able to prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines whilst working under pressure and with frequent interruptions Good problem solving skills
29. Knowledge of NHS IT applications
30. Experience of EPR configuration
31. Experience of delivering a set of agreed objectives or deliverables within the constraints of agreed policies and procedures.
32. Experience of supervising or line-managing staff, including contributing to or performing appraisals
Special Circumstances
Essential criteria
33. Able to travel between all Trust sites
34. Able to work flexible hours including occasional evening and weekends if required
35. Able to provide on-call services
