The role
Responsibilities: 1. Fulfil the role of COS for the ES Gp: translate commanders’ intent into decisive actions/tasks; routinely supervise and manage the ES Gp’s HQ staff; and deputise for SO1 ES in their absence. 2. Lead ES planner for HQ RC. 3. Staff engineering policy and technical management information from higher command and engineering agencies, challenge where necessary and distribute to dependent formations. 4. Advise and support principal ES staff within OPCOM formation HQs and ES affiliated organisations, and assist with the provision of suitably qualified and experienced contingency should their positions be either gapped or force generated for operations. 5. Coordinate Standing Joint Command’s LSMEA delegations, holding Senior LSMEA for specified ES organisations (detailed within the LSMEA Delegation Model set out in LEES) and responsibility for their engineering assurance. 6. Ensure ES operations in support of all authorised commitments and training activities are assigned suitable and sufficient resources. 7. Be the proponent and conduit for all REME Corps matters, ensuring they are communicated effectively across Regional Comd. 8. Provide C2 and line management (Inc. CM and MS) for subordinate HQ staff, the ADR Team Leader and ABU 1 (Army team) members.
