Bespak is looking for a Scientific Team Leader for this permanent position on the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. The salary for this role is £47k to £53k. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, discretionary annual bonus, generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance.
Working Pattern – Monday to Friday usual working times of 8:30am to 5:00pm with an 8:30 am to 3:45pm finish on a Friday. There is some flexibility on start and finish times.

As a Scientific Team Leader, you'll manage a team of analysts, ensuring the timely development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods for new products while adhering to cGMP regulatory standards. You will provide essential analytical and technical support for pilot manufacturing and clinical studies, acting as a Subject Matter Expert for regulatory inspections and customer audits. Your responsibilities include leading investigations, implementing continuous improvements, and communicating effectively with both your team and external customers to deliver successful drug product development programs.
Bespak in Holmes Chapel is an Investors in People Silver Award-winning pharmaceutical CDMO with over 350 employees, currently going through a period of significant site expansion. We are investing heavily to increase our capacity for developing and manufacturing sustainable pMDIs (asthma inhalers) with greener propellants, meeting the evolving standards of the industry, while providing comprehensive development, manufacturing, filling, and finishing solutions for a range of medical devices, including SMIs, DPIs, nasal sprays, and medical check valves.
As a Scientific Team Leader, your duties will include:
* Leading and managing a team of analytical scientists.
* Developing and validating analytical methods for new products.
* Providing analytical support for studies and manufacturing.
* Acting as Subject Matter Expert for regulatory audits.
* Driving continuous improvement and problem-solving investigations.
* Ensuring compliance with cGMP and safety regulations.
New Scientific Team Leader, beneficial key skills and experience:
* Strong chemistry and analytical instrumentation knowledge.
* Extensive experience in regulated analytical chemistry.
* Proven analytical method validation and transfer experience.
* Leading quality laboratory systems and GMP.
* Understanding of global pharmaceutical regulations and guidelines.
* Excellent communication, planning, and influencing skills.

Holmes Chapel is a beautiful village in Cheshire with excellent transport links via its railway station on the Crewe-Manchester Line, proximity to the motorway network and Manchester Airport. The National Parks of the Peak District, Lake District and Eryri (Snowdonia) are within easy reach. This could suit someone who has experience as an Analytical Development Manager, Laboratory manager, Senior Scientist Principal Scientist or R&D Team Lead.
