We are seeking Medical Laboratory Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated team in the Cellular Pathology Department at The Royal Stoke University Hospital.
1. The post holder will perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within Histology, following Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including the Pathology Quality Policy. Responsibilities include providing clerical and technical support to Biomedical Scientists to ensure a high-quality service in all areas of Histology. Tasks include sample receipt and preparation, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and updating information systems.
2. Work within the written Policies and Procedures of the Department, especially regarding Health and Safety and Quality.
3. Undertake reception duties as required.
4. Support and guide Pathology Support Workers within the Department.
5. Be an efficient and flexible member of the laboratory team, assisting in service delivery.
