The Opportunity
I’m currently working with a growing and design-led building services consultancy looking to appoint a Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of a strong and diverse project portfolio across the South West.
This is a key hire within a close-knit team, offering genuine influence over project delivery, client relationships, and the future direction of the business.

The Role
You will take a leading role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services across sectors including commercial, residential, education, and retail.
Working closely with senior leadership and clients, you’ll play both a technical and strategic role within the business.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading mechanical design from concept through to detailed design
* Delivering HVAC, public health, and low-carbon system solutions
* Producing and reviewing calculations, specifications, and technical reports
* Managing and coordinating Revit/BIM design outputs
* Supporting energy modelling and sustainable design strategies
* Attending and leading client and design team meetings
* Mentoring junior engineers and supporting team development
* Ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high technical standard
* Supporting client relationship management and business development

Requirements
* Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
* Proven experience within a building services consultancy environment
* Strong technical capability across mechanical/HVAC design
* Experience delivering projects across a range of sectors
* Proficiency with industry tools (e.g. Revit, IES, Hevacomp)
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* Chartered or working towards (CIBSE / IMechE) preferred
