Graduate / Junior CAD Technician Bristol Are you a Junior CAD Technician looking to progress your career in Aerial Surveying whilst obtaining a Commercial Drone Pilot Licence? Were looking for their next Graduate/Junior CAD Technician to join the team permanently with progression within the Aerial Surveying team. They are an impressive dynamic and digitally innovative business that specialises in the investigation, assessment and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental issues upon new development sites. They also lead the industry in aerial drone surveying and 3D ground modelling services. As the Graduate/Junior CAD Technician, you will be part of the 3D Modelling and Aerial Surveying team and in your role, you will be primarily supporting the team with the planning and undertaking of drone flights, producing 2D and 3D modelling of the sites and the production of technical drawings for all departments. In time and with their support, you would be expected to gain your commercial drone pilots license therefore, they are looking for a confident, self-motivated and CAD literate individual with excellent communication skills who is looking to make their mark on a growing business and sector. Aerial Surveyor duties include: Prepare 2D and 3D illustrative plans in accordance with the project purpose. Prepare topographical survey drawings from aerial survey data sets. Assist in the preparation of cut and fill analysis models either from first or third party data. Undertake technical drawings in support of other departments. Assist in liaison with external consultants regarding 3rd party input to technical drawings. Assist in the booking and management of specialist plant and service suppliers in accordance with the project scope and in line with all relevant company standard operating procedures (SOPs). Aerial Surveyor skills and experience required: Strong A-Level qualifications. Ideally a bachelors degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus. IT skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ideally some specialist software such as AutoCAD Civil 3d, Pix4D or other GIS software. Strong communication skills, both over the phone and face to face. Flexibility to travel for work in various locations and a desire to mix office time with fieldwork. Self-motivated with excellent administrative and organisational skills. A confident and enthusiastic approach to working within a small, dynamic team.
