We have a unique, part-time opportunity for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to provide clinical leadership within our dynamic team. This role balances hands-on clinical work with mentoring others and influencing service development.
You will be the go-to expert for our Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (EDS) pathway, providing specialist supervision and leading the sign-off of competencies for staff across Pennine. The role also includes maintaining a small caseload in early years feeding.

Job responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist for a leadership opportunity within a progressive NHS Trust in Burnley. This role is designed for a specialist who excels in both clinical leadership and hands-on practice.
You will be the clinical lead for the Eating, Drinking and Swallowing (EDS) pathway, providing supervision and driving excellence across the service. This position balances strategic staff development with maintaining a specialist caseload in early years feeding.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
 * Clinical Leadership & Supervision: Provide clinical leadership and act as a specialist resource for SLT staff undertaking EDS roles across the Pennine region; review, assess, and formally sign off EDS competencies; provide regular, high-quality supervision.
 * Clinical Practice: Hold and manage a defined, complex caseload within the early years feeding specialism; utilise advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage feeding and swallowing difficulties in young children.
 * Service Development: Support the Clinical Lead in development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical pathways; contribute to service improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient care and outcomes.
 * Professional: Maintain HCPC and RCSLT standards of practice; participate in relevant training including VFSS clinics (Friday working is beneficial).
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
 * Registered with HCPC and RCSLT
 * Significant post-qualification experience in Speech and Language Therapy with expertise in EDS
 * Substantial experience working with early years feeding and swallowing disorders
 * Evidence of providing clinical supervision and leadership to other staff
 * Experience in developing clinical competencies and participating in service development
Desirable
 * Specialist knowledge of current best practices in EDS and paediatric feeding
 * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills
 * Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
 * Strong organisational skills with capacity to manage a complex workload
