Overview
We’re looking for a Lead Solution Architect to build and lead a team of architects supporting RMG’s operations, commercial, and technology platforms. You’ll ensure IT projects are architected to best practice, aligned with RMG standards, and consistently engineered across suppliers, technologies, and methodologies.
Responsibilities
* Plan demand and ensure the right mix of architecture skills and resources.
* Line manage and develop Solution Architects, empowering decision‑making with governance support.
* Drive training and eliminate single points of failure.
* Translate project blueprints into solution designs, escalating deviations where needed.
* Assure quality control, peer review, and risk communication to stakeholders.
* Collaborate with Technology Directors and governance forums to balance competing needs.
* Establish best‑in‑class ways of working, embedding engineering early in sprints.
* Lead stakeholder meetings to balance delivery pressures with long‑term technology health.
Qualifications
* Proven leadership of Solution Architects and multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Mastery of complex systems architecture design and delivery.
* Experience in large‑scale digital transformation programmes.
* Strong communication skills with technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Hands‑on experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban).
* Architecture qualifications (TOGAF, Microsoft Azure, AWS) preferred.
