CAD Engineer - Contract - Leamington Spa This contract role to the end of December 2016, is to supply design services with 3D CAD models using CATIA, to internal engineers across the electrical, mission module, chassis and powertrain functions, creating high quality 3D CAD models and technical drawings on defence vehicles. The individual should be in a position to be Security Cleared without the requirement for any special exemptions. Based in Leamington Spa but with some potential travel in the UK, the CAD Engineer should be highly experienced with CATIA and will have the following duties: - Using CAD preferably CATIA v5 and Creo Parametric to produce high quality 3D CAD models and technical drawings. - Using Design best practice to advise on design optimisation, manufacturing viability and cost effectiveness. - Interpreting FEA results or other analysis techniques to help in the design process. - Using Windchill, work to create/maintain a logical BoM structure. Essential skills: - Use CATIA in an efficient and coherent manner - Have knowledge and experience in design, including the specification of materials, manufacturing methods, tolerances and component finish checks - Demonstrable knowledge of automotive systems and how they work together Desirable skills: - Experience with PDM - Product Data Management, ideally with Windchill exposure - Experience with engineering change processes and systems - Knowledge of quality control processes, procedures and best practice - Practical hands - on engineering fabrication experience - Ability to understand FEA results and to interpret into design requirements - Knowledge of composite use in design - Kinematics techniques used within a CA package - Stress analysis techniques used within a CA package Targeted skills: - Knowledge of land vehicle survivability, weapon systems or armour - Previous experience of designing military systems or platforms Should you feel you have the skills, experience and suitability to support this role, then
