About the Business
A leading UK industrial laundry specialist with a long-established history is seeking a Production Days Manager for its Birmingham operation. The business processes millions of items weekly and provides high-quality services to major hospitality clients nationwide.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring smooth daily production operations, strong team performance, and consistent service delivery.
The Role
As Production Days Manager, you will work closely with senior operational and engineering teams to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the production department. You will lead, develop, and support production staff while maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Support Senior Managers in the daily operation of the production department
Ensure all production areas are fully staffed, resourced, and meeting operational targets
Manage staff probations and conduct performance reviews
Take ownership of all staff training, including on-the-job and Health & Safety training
Promote and enforce strict Health & Safety compliance, including PPE oversight
Ensure timely, high-quality output to maintain strong customer service standards
Mentor and develop production staff, identifying training and progression opportunities
Foster strong teamwork across departments and shifts
Maintain clear and effective communication with senior management
Collaborate with loading teams to manage stock variations
Manage welfare-related matters in line with legislative requirements
Oversee holiday planning, attendance, and productivity monitoring
Conduct weekly linen and stock checks with accurate reporting
Maintain housekeeping standards, ensuring a clean and organised factory
Protect confidentiality relating to HR, financial, and company-sensitive information
Maximise product quality, ensuring correct classification of creased, stained, and rag items
Ensure consistency and effectiveness of staff training delivery
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Production Management role
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams
Manufacturing or industrial environment background
Ability to problem-solve, motivate teams, and drive operational standards
Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements
