Salary: £27, - £29, (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 week sessional
Working Pattern for the position is Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 3.15pm and Friday 8.30am to 12.15pm
We are looking for a conscientious, committed candidate with excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Previous experience of working in a school as a pupil support assistant will be an essential attribute for the successful candidates.
Nether Currie Primary School is a non-denominational primary school in the South-West of the city of Edinburgh. We have a current roll of children, from Primary 1 to Primary 7. In August, Nether Currie Primary Early Learning and Childcare opened for children aged 3 and 4 years old and has become an integral part of our school family.

Please note that these posts are currently subject to review and also have a mobility clause meaning there is a chance successful candidates could be moved to a different school in the future.
PSWs do not work during the 12 weeks of school holidays; however, the total salary is paid in 12 equal monthly payments, over the year. Please read the sessional working information attached to this advert. This explains how salaries are calculated for sessional (term time) and part time posts.
There are also opportunities to work in a holiday hub provision during the school holidays for successful candidates looking to work during the school holidays.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
