Clinical Professor in Primary Care Education and Head of Primary Care Education
We are seeking a GP and visionary leader to join our award-winning and dedicated team of academic educators. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of medical education and make a lasting impact on the next generation of doctors.
The Head of Primary Care Education is a key member of the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) leadership team. You will:
* Lead the development and delivery of primary care education across all years of our medical degree programmes
* Work closely with national bodies and internal leaders to set strategy and drive innovation
* Support and grow our dedicated network of GP tutors
* Play a central role in shaping education aligned with the GMC’s professional capabilities framework
* Influence policy, business planning, and national developments in primary care education
The post is based at our Whitechapel Campus in London and is part-time (0.6 FTE). The post is a permanent Clinical Professor in Primary Care Education with the Head of Primary Care Education an addendum role for an initial period of 3 years. Further details in the job pack.
You will be ready to step into a role where your clinical insight and educational drive can make a wide-reaching difference. You must hold a medical degree, MRCGP, and have recent GP experience. You will require a proactive awareness of the national agenda for primary care delivery and workforce expansion together will involvement in local leadership initiatives. An excellent understanding of the roles of Higher Education England, the Society of Academic Primary Care and the Royal College of General Practitioners in the innovation and funding of primary care education is essential.
