Overview
Personal Assistant required for a 11-year-old boy with Downs Syndrome who is visually impaired and non-verbal. He is happy and thrives and is stimulated by music. He enjoys swimming, football, the swings at the park and kayaking. Living in the Camborne area.
Responsibilities
* 1:1 support required and to accompany on occasional family outings.
* Provide full supervision and support independence; assist in awareness of danger.
* Personal care may be required.
* Makaton is encouraged, not essential but desirable.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Flexible hours with evening, weekends and school holidays desirable.
* 1:1 support and occasional outings as part of role.
* All offers of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check; this administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
Remuneration
£12.60 an hour plus 45p a mile (Business Class Insurance required and mileage paid only when young person is in the vehicle)
Employer / Contract
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
