Job Description Summary
This role will sit within the Roadside Finance team with a dotted reporting line into the Transformation team within COO. Your primary focus will be to support end-to-end programme management, covering governance, portfolio appraisal, cost management, benefit realisation, and post-implementation reviews.
Responsibilities
1. Assist the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis - Road in providing support to the Finance and Transformation teams across investment and cost management, including:
2. Development of benefits tracking methodology and analysis; tracking of investment benefits through business-led driver analysis to forecast portfolio returns
3. Consolidation of benefits tracking into concise analysis for Board presentations
4. Supporting prioritisation of Capex spend across the Roadside and Customer Ops portfolio, aligned with the 5-year roadmap
5. Working with Accountable Executives, Project Managers, and Finance Teams to develop robust business cases with OKRs and financial benefits, embedded in budgets
6. Analyzing project/program performance to identify early deviations from schedule and cost/benefit plans
7. Developing models to understand the AA's cost base and support resource allocation decisions
8. Participating in initiatives to improve forecasting accuracy, process standardization, and PPM tool effectiveness
9. Maintaining financial controls and advising non-finance functions on procedures
10. Developing knowledge of Roadside activities, KPIs, and metrics
11. Monitoring and driving the commercial success of the Roadside division

Capability, Knowledge, and Experience
* Experience in business planning, strategy, and business case development, ideally in B2C and B2B services
* Strong financial analysis and Excel modelling skills; benefit tracking and analysis capabilities
* Experience in investigating and appraising commercial solutions with high attention to detail
* Understanding of investment, financial, and business controls
* Ability to work with senior management to solve complex problems
* Excellent organizational and planning skills, with independence in work
Education & Qualifications
No specific educational requirements; however, the candidate should have one or more of the following:
* Graduate calibre or equivalent experience
* Training in economics, business, or finance
