Family Safeguarding Social Worker – Somerset Council
Join us in safeguarding children and families in Somerset as part of our dedicated frontline team.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with adult‑focused practitioners to inform assessments and plans in substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health.
* Conduct direct work with children and young people to hear their voices and understand their experiences.
* Engage with parents and the wider family network, utilising Family Group Conferencing to support strength‑building and behaviour change.
* Maintain a manageable caseload that allows for innovative and creative practice.
* Receive regular group and personal supervision from permanent Team Managers.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
* Substantial experience working with children and families.
* Passion for relationship‑based social work and creative problem‑solving.

Other Information
Location: Bridgwater (open to flexible working). A full driving licence and a personal vehicle are required for travel.
Salary: £37,280 – £41,771 per annum.
DBS check required.
