Job Title: English Teacher (Functional Skills & GCSE) Location: Near Newcastle upon Tyne Milk Education is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate English Teacher to join an amazing Alternative Provision This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator to make a real difference, supporting secondary-aged pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills and GCSE English lessons to small groups of no more than 6 students (and sometimes 1:1). Adapt existing high-quality resources to meet the individual needs of your learners. Inspire and motivate pupils to develop essential literacy skills, build confidence, and achieve personal success. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour. Work collaboratively with a small, dedicated team to deliver a coherently planned and sequenced curriculum. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience teaching Functional Skills and/or GCSE English to secondary-aged pupils. Understanding of or experience working with students with SEMH needs or in an alternative provision setting. Strong communication skills, empathy, and adaptability. Benefits: Competitive pay based on experience.
