Vehicle Technician
Location: Edinburgh
Hours: 40 per week - 6am-2.30pm and 8am-4.30pm
Starts at £42K Goes to £43K after 6 months
About your new company:
My client, a market leading company who have been in business for over 35 years, are looking for a Vehicle Technician to join their team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate must have a Level 3 Qualifications in either HGV, LCV or PSV and have experience of repairing and maintaining large vehicles.
Key Responsibilities for this Vehicle Technician role:
• Repair and maintain vehicles and plant as directed by the Workshop Supervisor
• Carry out inspections, diagnostics, brake and smoke tests
• Accurately complete job cards and inspection reports using the tablet system
• Identify and report required work, parts, defects and vehicle off-road (VOR) issues
• Ensure correct handling, labelling and storage of parts and tooling
• Comply with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures
Skills and Knowledge required for the Vehicle Technician
• Strong mechanical or motor vehicle knowledge
• Good communication, numeracy and diagnostic skills
• Customer-focused and quality-driven
• Understanding of health and safety regulations
Qualifications required for the Vehicle Technician
• Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence (essential)
• Level 3 Diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence (desirable, not essential)
