Job Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity to join us as in a Band 2 Trainee role which, upon successful completion of the BSc Diagnostic Imaging Apprenticeship and HCPC registration will lead to the opportunity to apply for a full time Band 5 Diagnostic Radiographer post (successful candidates currently employed in a Band 3 post will remain on this banding during training). During the Apprenticeship you will develop the knowledge and skills required of a Diagnostic Radiographer as listed in the job description. You will be supervised by qualified staff throughout the training period which is 36 months in duration.
Academic components will be delivered by the University of the West of England by a combination of remote live delivery and face to face attendance weeks.

Job Summary
* To conduct diagnostic radiography examinations, producing high quality diagnostic images:
* upon a range of patient types
* both as an autonomous radiographic practitioner and as part of a multi-professional team
* in a manner that meets professional, departmental & legal standards and requirements
* To be responsible for a high standard of patient care to include a diverse range of patients
* To independently assess each patient and adapt radiographic techniques according to the needs of the patient
* To use professional discretion and experience to ensure that best clinical practice is maintained
* To participate in out of hours duties

You will be fully supervised and supported in developing these necessary skills throughout the duration of the apprenticeship.

* Level 3 qualification equivalent to 120 UCAS tariff points
Desirable criteria
* Minimum 1 year experience in patient facing role in Radiology
* Level 3 qualification with a science or healthcare subject
