Role Overview
We are seeking a dependable and well-organised General Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will help ensure the smooth running of our office operations and provide day-to-day administrative support to staff across the business. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow within a civil engineering and utilities environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Answering and directing incoming calls
* Welcoming visitors and handling incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
* Filing, photocopying, printing, and scanning
* Placing the monthly stationery orders and managing PPE orders
* Assisting in the preparation of reports
* Supporting finance functions with data entry, invoice reconciliation, and other finance tasks as required
* Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors as required, including raising purchase order numbers when needed
* Other general administrative duties as required
Skills & Experience
* Previous office administration experience preferable
* Confident with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise workload
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Must be able to maintain confidentiality
* GCSE Grade C / Level 5 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* NVQ Level 2 or above in Business Administration, or working towards, or demonstrable equivalent experience/aptitude – we would also accept apprentice applications
* Awareness of civil engineering, utilities, or construction industries is an advantage, but not essential
