We are looking for an experienced senior legal assistant to join the team of a growing firm.
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be given a wide variety of tasks. The role will involve some client facing work as well as back-office support, including:
• ad hoc assistance to all our solicitors throughout a transaction
• undertaking property searches
• drafting SDLT Returns, submitting same and making sure payment is made
• obtaining indemnity insurance policies for no search insurance, chancel liability, restrictive covenants etc
• dealing with pre and post completion files
• litigation support (bundling, e-filing with the courts etc)
• chasing clients for missing information
• file closing, deeds storage and archiving
About You
You will be a self-starter and be excited to join a small team that will value your contribution. You will be methodical, professional and demonstrate a strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy. The right candidate will take pride in ‘adding value’ by spotting and communicating problems, rather than just ‘doing what is asked’. You will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, have excellent knowledge of MS Office products, and be very IT literate as we are a truly paperless firm.
Required experience:
• 5+ years as a legal secretary or paralegal in a law firm
• Conveyancing experience
