Test and Commissioning Manager Job Description

We are seeking a Test and Commissioning Manager for a machinery manufacturing company based in Hook, Basingstoke. In this role, you will oversee manufacturing improvements, collaborate with various departments, and strive for operational excellence and best practices.


Responsibilities

* Maintain open communication with managers, staff, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
* Oversee monthly production schedules, aligning with customer deadlines to improve lead time accuracy.
* Ensure team members stay current with product knowledge and technical skills.
* Implement and maintain effective processes and procedures within your area of responsibility.
* Promote a culture of reporting non-conformance and near-misses; lead root cause analysis when necessary.
* Support and develop team members to reach their full potential.
* Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining overall responsibility and control.
* Continuously evaluate and improve team efficiency.
* Manage daily operations, ensuring high safety and manufacturing standards.
* Conduct performance appraisals, provide constructive feedback, and address performance issues proactively.
* Communicate objectives, expectations, and strategic goals clearly to the team.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.


Requirements

* Bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of team performance optimization and development.
* Excellent collaboration skills and ability to engage stakeholders across departments.
* Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
* Experience in driving process improvements and managing change effectively.
* Proficiency in conflict resolution and negotiation techniques.


Salary & Benefits

Salary ranges from £40,000 to £43,000 depending on experience. Benefits include:

* Free lunch options, including sandwiches, baguettes, salads, and hot food.
* Holiday entitlement and a non-contractual bonus equivalent to one month's salary.
* Company closure during Christmas (3 days holiday).
* 40-hour workweek.
* On-site parking.
