Offer description

Build the world you want to live in with a career in the infrastructure property sector.

We are looking for ambitious Graduates to join our growing Infrastructure team in Bristol.

Our society is changing, as can be seen in news reports every day. Housing shortages, changing high streets, water shortages, climate change, biodiversity, energy supplies, renewable energy, and the switch to electric cars from 2035 are all issues that our society is facing today. Our towns, cities, and countryside have to adapt to these changes, and you could be part of building the world we want to live in.

The Team

Our infrastructure team is the fastest growing of its kind in the country, now with 180 people in seven offices around the UK, working with major clients including Network Rail, HS2, National Highways, National Grid, Homes England, and the Crown Estate.

Operating in both rural and urban environments, our Infrastructure Graduates are directly involved in delivering the world we need for the 21st century and beyond. We cover an array of services to clients within the following sectors:

* Energy
* Minerals & Waste
* Regeneration
* Telecommunications
* Utilities
* Transport
* Geospatial / GIS
* Property / Asset management

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an effective individual to become part of our team that delivers real change to people’s lives. You will deal with a wide range of property clients from local Councils and London Boroughs, Network Rail, DfT, TfL, Water companies, Telecoms providers, to homeowners, farmers, equestrian and agri businesses, and small and multinational commercial businesses. You will assist with the negotiation of acquisition and relocation packages for various property types, supporting the consenting and delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Your daily work may include supporting with gaining consent for access across third-party land, negotiating lease events, acquiring land and buildings, negotiating business relocations, asset acquisitions and disposals, valuations, and contributing to strategic land acquisition reports. You will undertake site visits, meet clients and colleagues, and attend public consultation events.

You will also participate in developing and implementing efficient, ‘best practice’ internal systems and processes, optimizing IT and other resources. You will gain experience in specialised skills like land assembly negotiations and compulsory purchase, which are in short supply in the market. Our in-house Academy training course will give you a head start with over 20 hours of CPD.

Client relationship management is essential, including attending meetings and preparing communications and reports.

What will it take to be successful?

Applicants from various backgrounds including land management, environmental, infrastructure, planning & development, land administration, geography, real estate, and related fields are encouraged to apply. You will develop a broad understanding of the property/real estate lifecycle, from land registration/mapping to management, development, remediation, and reuse.

Ideally, you will have a RICS-accredited degree, but applications from candidates with non-accredited degrees and other relevant qualifications are welcome. For GIS and Geospatial roles, follow the CICES and RGS Chartered GIS/Geographers pathways.

Experience in real estate across rural, commercial, or energy sectors through work or placements is advantageous. A full driving license is essential due to regular travel requirements.

We are committed to employing the best talent. Our culture is collaborative and business-minded. We are pioneering in the use of technology within the property industry, making Carter Jonas an exciting place to work.
