About The Role

The Gardens, Boston PE21 8EY
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It influences all aspects of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every team member understands that our residents are individuals with their own stories. Joining us offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
Your responsibilities include planning and delivering care that promotes residents' security, dignity, and independence. You will get to know residents and their families to ensure personalized care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will uphold high standards of care and positively influence your team. Whether demonstrating how to use a walking frame, assisting at mealtimes, or communicating with families, you will do so with kindness.
You will assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, and administering medication.
Maintaining accurate records and building strong team relationships are key aspects of the role.
Ideally, you will have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and be willing to work towards Level 3 or equivalent, with experience in person-centered care planning and dementia care. Your positive energy, ability to connect with people, good record-keeping skills, and effective time management are essential. Communicating with residents and colleagues with consideration and kindness is vital.

* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
* Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications
* Free uniform
* Nutritious meals during shifts of eight hours or more
* Company pension scheme
* 28 days' annual leave including bank holidays
* Group life assurance
* Wagestream for flexible pay access
* Learning and development opportunities
* GP online services for you and your children
* Colleague discounts and wellbeing support
* Recognition schemes and a refer-a-friend bonus scheme

About You

Preferably, you will have a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.

You should arrive 30 minutes before your shift for handover and induction from the Senior.

You need strong verbal and written communication skills for accurate documentation and liaising with medical professionals.

You must be able to manage emergencies confidently and be experienced in medication administration using the Emed system.

Hands-on care skills are essential, including experience with moving and handling equipment like slide sheets. You should have at least 6 months' experience as a senior carer responsible for a residential building, particularly in dementia care.

Safeguarding remains a key responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse or neglect and know how to report concerns. Attendance at safeguarding training and related courses is required.
